This is a competitive program for players who have gone through a selection process (tryout) and play in the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL). Tryouts are posted on our website during the late spring.

A program for U9 players who want extra soccer. You MUST be registered with the club's intramural program to take advantage of this program. Everyone who signs up is accepted into the program. You play teams from other clubs in the Long Island Junior Soccer League (LIJSL) travel program. Half of your games will be played in West Islip; the other half in towns in Suffolk county. Scores & standings will be kept.
This program is for the Spring 2015 season.
The cost includes academy style training, LIJSL team & player fees, paid professional coaching, and a jersey.
This program will not replace current team rosters or schedules. This program will include extra practices and extra games.
ALL communication will be done through email.
U7-U9/10 INTRAMURAL players, who are interested in playing extra soccer during the off season (between the Fall & Spring seasons), will need to register for the winter program.
You will be emailed to see if you want to participate in upcoming indoor tournaments, practices, and/or a winter indoor league.
Registering for the winter program does NOT mean that you are automatically entered into any indoor tournaments or league. Only those who register for the winter program will be emailed about upcoming winter tournaments/leagues, and will be asked if they're interested in participating. You can participate in as many or few tournaments and/or leagues if you want.
Please understand that your response to the emails determines whether a coach will have enough players or not to register a team. A coach usually pays for these events out of his/her own pocket, and then collects the money from the players. Therefore only say yes to an event, if your child intends on playing.
The $25 fee for this winter registration covers your child's participation in our own West Islip tournament (Feb 7-8). All other events are entirely optional. The cost for all other events will depend on the fee of these other events you decide to participate in and the number of players participating in that event. For example, if a tournament charges $300 per team, and there are 10 players participating on this team, each player is asked to pay $30.

Adults interested in coaching need to register online as well.
Registrations after November 9th incur a $5 late fee and cannot be guaranteed a spot (however, we'll do everything possible to include your child). Once you register after the recommended date of November 9th, it's possible that emails about events went out already, and therefore you might not be included on those emails.
West Islip Soccer Club will offer an indoor Winter Training Program for U7, U8 & U9/10 intramural players at the Masera Learning Center gym.
Due to interest an extra session was added.
So not 5, but now 6 indoor sessions. All 1 hour sessions.

This is a recreational "in-house" program for players who turn 5 or older (but not older than 10) during the season before July 31. They play against players from the same club.
There will be 10 games scheduled in the Fall, and 8 games in the Spring.

A soccer season actually consists of two seasons combined: fall & spring season.
The fall season typically starts the first weekend after Labor Day and runs through mid November.
The spring season typically starts the weekend around St Patrick's Day and runs through mid May.
Although you can register a child at any time, intramural and interleague teams are formed during the summer. The number of coaches needed for each age group is determined based on the players registered at that time. Therefore it's important to register early enough, so the ratio of players per coach is reasonable. You can see how important our volunteer coaches are to make this all happen. Please consider being a coach or assistant coach. If necessary, coaches will be recruited via telelphone calls. Players in intramural age groups U7-U9/10 are drafted by coaches. Intramural & interleague registrations after May 31st will be assessed a $15 late fee.

West Islip Soccer Club offers recreational and competitive soccer for all players ages 4 - 25. Players will play in one of four divisions: Intramural (a.k.a. in-house), Interleague (a.k.a. intertown), Travel or High Flyers. All players registered for the Intramural and Interleague programs will be placed on a team. Travel players are required to try out for the teams in their respective age groups. Travel tryouts take place in June of each year. Tryout information can be found on the club's website and all eligible players will receive the necessary information from the coach of the team they're selected to play for. If you are not already on a travel team, you should register for the Interleague or Intramural program. If your child is accepted on a travel team, your child will be transferred to that team automatically. You will be responsible for the balance owed for travel registration.
Annual registration for the Fall 2014 season & Spring 2015 season starts on March 1st.
IMPORTANT: New U5 players (born 8/1/09-7/31/10) & U6 players (born 8/1/08-7/31/09 can only register during in-person registration (therefore not online). In-person registration dates can be found on our club website.
Children born on or before July 31, 2009 are eligible to play during the Fall 2013 - Spring 2014 season.
Children born on or before July 31, 2010 are eligible to play during the Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 season.
U5 through U10 play intramural ("in-house"); U11 and older play interleague ("inter-town"). At U10 players may choose to "tryout" for a travel team (see Travel Program below).

If you register online before the deadline, you should expect a phone call from a coach by the 3rd week of August. If you register online after May 31st, please keep in mind that all board members are volunteers, have busy lives, and often go on vacation during the summer months. The information you provide here will still require human intervention, and by multiple people (registrar, age group coordinator, coach, etc.), before your child is assigned to a team. Schedules are usually posted the week prior to the start of the season. Therefore we appreciate your patience and understanding.

Children born or or before July 31, 2005 (U10 and older) who have been selected after the team's tryout are eligible to play in the travel program for the Fall 2014 - Spring 2015 season.
Travel players have to select their specific team when registering. Please be sure to register for the team your child was selected on. If you have any questions about registering for a travel team, please contact your travel team coach.
If you are not already on a travel team, you should register for the Interleague program (or Intramural program if a U10 player for the upcoming season). If your child is accepted on a travel team, your child will be transferred to that team. You will be responsible for the balance owed for travel registration.
Travel registration closed on July 6, 2014 and will reopen again in late June 2015 after tryouts.
An informational meeting is usually held before U10 travel tryouts. It's HIGHLY recommended that you attend this meeting, as the program is different from the intramural program.

The West Islip Soccer Club is pleased to provide a program for children with Special Needs. Many children with physical or mental disabilities will now have the opportunity to participate in soccer in a program that will enable them to play and progress at their own level. The program is designed for any children in the West Islip or neighboring communities with Special Needs.
The goals of the program are for the children to:
We play each week for approximately 1 hour. Each session consists of two parts. The first half hour is spent conducting drills and mini games to teach the various soccer skills such as kicking, passing and shooting, as well as promoting teamwork by working with other children. The second half hour is a game/scrimmage. We split the children up each week based on age and ability and play a non-competitive game. There is no score kept and every team wins.
There will be a Fall and Spring season that will follow the intramural season. We also plan to participate in a tournament each season with clubs from other towns on Long Island with similar programs. This also is a non-competitive tournament that will enable the children to experience playing against other teams.
Volunteers: The success of the program has been the participation of volunteers to help throughout the session. If you are in High School, or know someone who is, who would be willing to come down and help out these very special kids, please give us a call. Our Soccer Buddies program help the children in a variety of ways, from assisting with the drills to helping individual players with a particular skill. For those seeking community service opportunities, a letter of accreditation will be provided.
Academy teams are for the U-9 age boys and girls that desire to play soccer in a more competitive setting. The academy teams are formed in addition to the regular intramural teams. The academy program gives players the opportunity to play extra soccer.
During the weekends and weeks that there are no games scheduled, there's sometimes an opportunity to participate in a tournament, winter indoor league, or summer league. These are all extra programs. If your child is interested in playing during off season events, you will need to sign up your child for this. By signing up, you indicate INTENT to play these events. Based on the number of signups for a certain age group, the coaches for that age group will determine whether or not to sign up a team (or a few teams). Usually the coordinator for that off season program will let you know what events are available during that time frame. You can then indicate whether or not your child is available to play in that event.
Your cost will depend on the entrance fee for that event and the number of players participating in the event.
There are typically 3 signups throughout the year for this: Fall (Columbus Day weekend tournament), Winter (indoor league, indoor gym, futsal and/or turf tournaments), and Spring/Summer (spring tournaments, Father's Day tournament, summer league). Not all age groups will participate in a summer league. It's usually decided by the coaches who volunteer for these events and will depend on the interest in these events. Signing up for off season soccer, in effect puts you on the email list, so you'll be asked if you're interested in upcoming events for your age group.
Overall, the intramural off season tournaments/leagues are for those players who want to continue playing while there aren't any league games scheduled. It's extra soccer. These intramural off season events are available to U7 through U9 players.
